April 22, 2006 - 1st Annual National Steppers Picnic
Was a great time. I hope everyone enjoyed it. We were all dancing, laughting, meet / greet, line dancing, and we even had an egg toss contest.

We had an abundance of food, which we shared with each other. Plenty of fellowship.

Once you have learned to Swingout & 2-Step, it is recommended that you try to locate a regular dance partner and we strongly encourage dancing with others to improve your dancing skills. As Instructors we spend a LOT of time getting you ready to be able to dance with any other Steppers. As instructors we already know you can dance with us, but dancing with us is actually staying safe and will only hinder your dancing skills. You have to dance with other people to get into different dance situations to become better.

Don’t restrict yourself to dancing only with your instructor when you go out in public. Instructors are just your teachers. When Instructors are out dancing it’s usually for their own personal enjoyment or business. Remember we are still just regular people out to have a much needed relaxing evening together. As Instructors we teach so many students, we are unable to dance with everybody. If you missed a dance with us we’ll catch you next time. We have taught all students well enough to dance with others. Actually when students dance in public it give us an opportunity to watch your dance steps, movements, footwork, timing, and how well you adjust to another dancer. If we see something that needs work, we will help you in class.
