About Us

Lee came from a dancing family.  Brother (Phillip Perry) lived in Hollywood and was the number 1 Tap dancer in the nation appearing on American Band Stand.   His sister Margaret was the number 1 female tap dancer in Houston. All children were taught by their father John Perry.Influenced to learn dance by his sister he began to dance at the age of 12.  Practice by hanging onto a door knob (using this method simulated a person arm movement) or bed post (using this method learning to dance stationary).
Mr. Smooth has danced socially most of his life.   When asked he would teach one on one base. Not knowing his dancing journey would make history in expanding The Art of Houston Swingout & 2-Step and building an authentic experience teaching format.

He began teaching professionally in 2000, since then he has expanded his repertoire to many different multi-cultural dance styles. Instructor/Operate - The Best of Swingout & 2-Step Dance Studio. His method of teaching dance is firm; difficult moves are demo-ed over and over, personal hands-on lead guiding with the men, and direct to the point instruction. Mr. Smooth an expert enthusiastic teacher instructing students to get them ready to become Advance dancers

With Dance partner Ms. Deborah Fanci` Dancer together their commitment to preserving the original Art of Houston Swingout & 2-Step has made a tremendous impact and contribution to the growth in the Worldwide Dance Community.

Out of all the different dance styles he knows, his passion and mission will be to first preserve the originality  of the Art of Houston Swingout & 2-Step (R&B) dance.

When he’s in the zone you can find him doing his signature triple turns, mid-air jumps, open leg splits, lifting and leaning Ms. Fanci` Dancer. 

Ms. Fanci` was blessed with a wonderful life prior to dancing, but something was still missing. In her heart at that stage of life she wanted to give back, make an impact or make a difference in the world. She asked God through prayer to give her something that was just for her.  He did. God decided to give out a Gift: Ministry of Learning and Teacher of Dance.  God put quite a few strings attached.  The strings are the many students he has sent to be introduced and helped through Dance.  As receivers they humbly pass it on to many others.
 
Dance teacher was her partner Lee “Mr. Smooth”. He trained her in the Art of Houston Swingout & 2-Step. She also has a broad repertoire in varies multi-cultural dance styles such as Beaumont, Dallas & Austin Swingout, Creole Zydeco, Country Western, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha Cha or Motown Cha Cha, Tango, Jive, Whip or Hand-dance, Chicago Steppin, Bop, Hustle, etc. Which is an added plus when booked as Guest Instructors at various dance events across the United States.

Currently Instructor/Operator - The Best of Swingout & 2-Step Dance Studio.  An excellent Beginners Instructor priding herself on making sure each person who takes instruction from her leaves the class actually dancing.  Instructing and making sure the "Originial Authentic" basic steps have been properly learned.  If someone can’t get a step or having trouble dancing Ms. Fanci` will patiently help to the end.

With years of teaching experience and the many, many The Best of Swingout & 2-Step Dance Studio new students currently dancing, Ms Fanci` has mastered the Art of Houston Swingout.  Throughout the Swingout Steppers Community she is considered a value, contributing asset to the Dancing Community.

If anybody knows her she has a giving heart, always making sure other’s come first, and she is the best hostess in making sure all of her guest feel WELCOME.

Ms. Fanci` has grace, class, style and just pure elegance when dancing. Everybody calls her Ms. Fanci`. Standing 5′ 7 tall, a diva with long legs that go on and on, she compares to a beautiful swan.
Dress Attire: conservative always lady-like. Like appropriate length short skirts and stretch Jeans or slacks.  Form A-Line fitting dresses.  Feel most comfortable with anklets and bracelets.  Open-toe with slight high heels the shoe of choice.  Make-up looks natural and fresh.
